I'll come right out and say it: I am not an "expert" on preparing for maternity leave. This is my first time doing it! And before we get into the article, let's do the Airing of Privileges: I have a job that pays above the median income for my area. I reasonably expect that job to exist at least through August 2021 and probably beyond then. I'm married and my husband also has steady employment. We have medical insurance and a healthy emergency fund. Our families are supportiv
